I’ve agonised over buying this. I’ve heard really mixed reviews. I specifically wanted this machine to make frozen yoghurt and healthy dessert options and this is where I’ve heard really mixed opinions on whether it can make creamy frozen yoghurt or whether it’s just churns out inedible ice filled frozen desserts.

I decided to risk it and see what it could do. I’ve made quite a few frozen yoghurt/healthy desserts over Christmas including using low fat Greek fage yoghurt (5% fat) The results are amazingly good. Creamy frozen yoghurt that tastes just like ice cream but without all the calories.

I read somewhere that to stop ice crystals forming in lower fat desserts being made in the creami you should add xanthan gum. I got a huge tub of this off Amazon very cheaply. I’ve added a quarter of a teaspoon to approx 450 to 500g of yoghurt before putting it in the creami. Ive mixed it well using a stand mixer and then frozen the mixture. I’ve used the lite ice cream setting for frozen yoghurt and I’ve used the re-spin feature when the frozen yoghurt has come out a little powdery. I’ve only needed to do this once.

I’ve got delicious creamy frozen yoghurt each time I’ve used it and I’m delighted. It’s very easy to use. I was worried about the noise, yes it’s a bit noisy but the machine only tends to run for a couple of minutes.

It’s a great gadget and I’ve had a lot of fun trying new things in it. Highly recommended.

    Literally, magic.

All the reviews, YouTube videos, things you’re reading…. I was sceptical… its all true.

This thing makes ice cream better than what you can buy in the store… its so fresh, its so tasty, its literally from another dimension.

I made honey ice cream, vanilla ice cream, choc chip ice cream… even chopped up a snickers and ‘mixed it in’ to a choc peanut ice cream… its incredible you can make anything you can think of into ice cream…

Threw a banana, cream, milk, xylitol into a cup, froze it, BAM ice cream. did the same with strawberries… was amazing there is no end to what you can make with it.

I have been using this machine for 3 months now, works great. I get some occasional resistance from when i remove the tub after the spin, but it seems like a common issue and nothing to worry about. Its worth having this machine if your trying to hit your protein target and/or if you have an insatiable sweet tooth you would like to control.

  7. annmarietoman

It dosent really make icecream as much as icecles

  8. Wd38

Been making loads of healthy recipes and filling up on them to stop me eating crap really happy with it it’s a great way to eat more veg using it as a base but covering the flavour with vanilla or chocolate powder

  9. PRAKASH DAVEY

Brilliant product and easy to use.

The promise of a ninja creami is so good, homemade ice cream, it can be low calorie, high protein, you name it, just on demand any time, the reality is very different, and it has been full of issues.

The first issue which was a complete deal breaker for me, is that the spinning blade will rub against the ice cream container as it goes up and down and fragment off shards of plastic into the ice cream. They’ll be everywhere and you can eat them without even noticing, until you see all of the scratches on the edges of the container and you start paying attention, you’ll see that little bits of plastic are throughout the entire pint of ice cream.

I contacted Ninja directly about this and it was a real hassle to get them to do anything, which I thought was crazy? for repeated plastic in my food? anyway they refused to refund or replace my machine, and instead sent me some new containers and a new blade. So I tried again and I got exactly the same issue…

So I stopped using it completely because of that, but my girlfriend was undeterred.

That was until last night where she decided she wanted some ice cream, plugged it in and put it to work and the machine basically imploded. The blade span all the way down to the bottom, then continued spinning, until it was lodged in the plastic beneath the container, it kept spinning and spinning until it was at the point where the arm at the top of the machine buckled and the whole thing crumpled and kept spinning until I physically unplugged it from the mains and now I am left with a melted fragmented pile of junk plastic in the middle of my kitchen, with a contorted melted container of ice cream in the middle of it…

Anyway, I contacted Amazon instead of Ninja this time and they have given me a refund if I return the broken machine, so I’m loading this piece of rubbish into the Box and sending it back as we speak. It’s been a 10 month long absolute terrible experience that I wouldn’t wish upon anyone.

I waited a year to write a review. I use this all the time. Took a little while to get used to it but now its second nature. My kids have a food intolerance to tannins that mean that pretty much all commercially produced ice cream is no good for them so this is a God send. I find if I follow the recipes exactly then the recipes come out perfect every time. Ive made perfect ice cream, gelato and sorbets, as nice as a gelataria. the sorbets have a similar consistency to ice cream, i love them. The milkshake recipes come out thick and ice-creamy like what you would get in a restuarant. Only thing I found disappointing is that I had hoped to make low sugar recipes but the sugar is an important component as it is an anti-freeze. But I’ve embraced it because the ice cream is so rich and decadent that you only need a small portion to be satisfied. There is a large Ninja community on Facebook where people have successfully made recipes using various sweeteners, I havent tried it personally but its there as an option. Some of the Ninja sorbet recipes sich as the watermelon dont have much added sugar anyway.

    Game-Changer for Dessert Lovers! 🍦
The Ninja Ice Cream Maker has completely transformed dessert time in our house! It’s not just an ice cream maker—it’s a full-on frozen treat machine. From creamy gelato to fruity sorbets, milkshakes, and even protein-packed frozen yoghurts, this thing does it all.

Setup was a breeze, and the instructions were super clear. I love how easy it is to customise recipes—whether I’m craving something indulgent or a low-sugar alternative, it delivers every time. The texture is unbelievably smooth, just like the real deal from an ice cream parlour.

One of the best features is how quickly it can turn a frozen base into a perfect scoop. It’s ideal for families, dinner parties, or even just a late-night treat for one. Cleaning it is easy too, which makes using it regularly a no-brainer.

If you’re on the fence—don’t be. This is hands-down one of the best kitchen gadgets I’ve ever owned. It’s fun, versatile, and a total crowd-pleaser. Ninja really knocked it out of the park with this one!
