Peace of soda, have two Salters, this one is just brutal, does not Sync, one side raw the other burnt
LONDON VASARI –
OK. So I am going to spend some time on this review. I resisted the air fryer hysteria til well after Xmas (and missed the discounts) and spent a LOT of time researching these gadgets. First – they are not FRYERS at all but compact convector ovens that can reach high temps in a confined space. Second – they are brilliant at what they do best (stuff you would most likely fry in a pan with oil). I forgot about Ttrendy Ninja (expensive) and went for this particular SALTER model which came tops in most professional reviews and really is WELL PRICED. They cut down smells and cooking time across a host of foodstuffs (excellent at breaded frozen foods like fish fingers etc) and brilliant at oven chips – or anything that requires a crispy exterior and remain moist inside. TIP: ALWAYS go for a two drawer option. This Salter has a neat function to match cooking times OR synchronise both drawers so they finish cooking at the same time despite differing temp/time settings. The ONLY reason for 3 stars is the drawers (unusually) are NOT dishwasher safe but you simply get silicone basket inserts which are, costing c. £6-8 a pair. Air Fryers are the new microwave and every home should have one !!! BTW : we had a slight problem with Prime delivery (a unit ‘went missing’ TWICE at the couriers BUT AMAZON WERE BRILLIANT AND REPLACED THE DELIVERY WHEN WE COMPLAINED.)

Although generally used for 1 or 2 people, I got the family sized air cooker for the flexibility of cooking differing food types at the same time.
SO easy to use, SO clear to operate, SO bloomin’ good at producing well cooked food.
My first attempt was to cook a large, thick rump steak and chips – O.M.G. So long since I tasted a steak like it. All the flavour kept in, easier to cut than oven/grill/barbie cooked.
Can’t recommend this enough – Real Value For Money!!

It’s an air fryer, not really much worth saying about that, so I’ll focus on what I like about this particular model.
The two drawers are quite spacious, which makes shaking your fries etc part way through much easier (although if you only have a single portion in then you probably won’t need to). I love that you can set the drawers to finish at the same time if you want to, regardless of how long each one needs to cook for or what temperature they are – perfect for making sure fries and nuggets are ready together! The preset buttons are ok, personally I’d like the ability to reprogram them (I’ll never use some of them) but they’re a nice shortcut.
The only downside I’ve found is that the removable base inside the pans falls out too easily. If you’re tipping fries onto a plate, the base will fall out too – and of course it’s a hot sheet of metal, so you have to be careful picking it up. It’s great for separating the fat from the food, but completely pointless of it’s just going to fall out and dump the fat all over the food anyway. There really should be something to hold it in, or a removable basket like other fryers.

This is such a great air fryer. It’s easy to use and easy to clean. You can get plenty of food in each holder, I managed a whole chicken which easily cooked in 45 minutes and the sync cooking is such a great option to use as well. Might not be good for a big family, but could easily cater for 2 to 3 people’s meals. I’ve cooked, meat, fish, vegetables and snacks in there. It’s not too noisy, clear screens for choosing your cooking options and a handy beeping noise to let you know it’s finished. I absolutely recommend this air fryer and glad I bought it.

Having considered purchasing an air fryer for some time I finally took the plunge in the Amazon Prime Sale, for £60 this was an ofer too good to miss. The product is excellent, it is clearly well made as expected from a trusted brand (Salter). It has two very spacious comaprtments and is so much quicker and more effcient at cookijg food than my Bosch oven. The food is really crispy on the outside and tastes much better than when i’ve cooked them previously. It heats incredibly quickly too. I am glad took the plunge into air frying as it really does make my life cookijg easier as a family of four.

I brought this when Electricity prices went high, in the hopes it would save money.
What I have found so far is its great for cooking stuff without having to pre-heat the oven. If you are like me, I turn on the oven go do something and it could be 50 min before I remember the oven is on, and by that time the item would have been cooked twice over. So yes has saved me money on Electricity.
Easy to use, turn on, select what side you want to use, I click on the manual button and set time and temp and its away it goes. It beeps to tell me when its finishing, so ideal for checking and extending the time if needed. Has programs but I haven’t used them at all.
I purchased separately some Silicone Tray Liners, which fit fine and can really be scrubbed clean so no worrying about the non stick coating. But if you do chips in it I wouldn’t use liners. I actually prefer my Actifry for Chips, I also tried a rack in here which didn’t work out well.
I like the fact that you can have 2 different items on at the same time, so when my family want different stuff its easy to do, and at times I have cooked a toasty in the Salter AF, and my husband loves them (so making our toasty machine redundant. But I also use Bagette for homemade Pizza base and the family love it, they can have their own choice of toppings- 5 min and its ready to eat.
I saw online someone put in grease proof paper as a liner, I tried doing this with a big fail as I left the paper too long, the paper burned and was lucky I was right next to it.
OK now down to size, in ways I wish I had brought the other one with one big compartment and not the 2 trays with different temps. Some items I cook are too big for the tray so do still have to use the oven, eg shop brought family size pie, but if you make your own from start just use the correct dish and its great.
