Hopeless. Just wouldn’t connect to my network no matter what. Tried everything. I have other vacuums that connect instantly. Very disappointed. Returned for a refund.

Update.
I don’t like to give negative feedback, so after packing this away to be returned I thought lets give it one more go. Don’t get me wrong, it still failed miserably to connect. I spent hours tearing my hair out on Saturday and almost gave up again. Then, this morning I noticed a setting on my tablet. It refers to something called Bluetooth tethering. It was set to Off. Now I’ve no idea if this was the sole cause of my issues (apparently turning your cellular data off whilst connecting may help too – I installed the app on a WiFi only tablet to rule this out) but finally, it worked! I’m assuming Bluetooth is needed for setup and having this setting Off, even though Bluetooth itself was On, was causing the connection issue.

So, with that out of the way – Wow! I’ve owned quite a few robot vacuums (I have a problem I know) and now it’s up and running I can happily say this is my best so far. It’s a weighty beast with very high suction on its top setting. The self raising mop is just brilliant. It detects carpets instantly, better than any I’ve tried before. So I’ll be keeping the water reservoir filled because, with this model it will only mop where needed, automatically. It’s advised you also rinse and squeeze out the mop pad before each clean. I set it going with a dry mop pad but it still did an OK job.

Mapping is extremely impressive. Admittedly my house isn’t big but I wasn’t expecting it to map the place so quickly and accurately. It mapped a good portion of my humble abode without even moving. I still allowed it to wander though and the result was just fantastic. I’m really impressed with how far the technology has come. My gripe has always been the same, I hate it when they bump into things. Over time it can cause scuff marks on paintwork and is just generally annoying. Not with this robot though! It just completed its first full cleaning routine and I don’t think it hit anything. The vacuum ramped up the power when it knew it was on a carpeted area, the mop having raised and water ceased pumping too. As soon as it knows it’s on tiles or vinyl the vacuum decreases and the mop lowers. All very seamless and not too loud (depending on your vacuum setting). The app has numerous setting too.

All in all this is a great machine. One of the most powerful too. Accessories are readily available here on amazon. One star deleted because I lost a day trying to get it to connect. It really should be simple, and it seems for most it is. I do know people have had issues though. Apart from this I recommend. Now, I better go cancel that return.

Further update.
Didn’t have too much time last weekend to really put this through it’s paces. This morning I used it to both vacuum and mop. I increased the suction via the app, chose ‘deep clean’ (which vacuums closer linear lines on each pass) and had it perform two cleaning cycles. All of this understandably doubled the cleaning time from 30 mins to 1 hour. The outcome? Fantastic! I really am extremely impressed so far with this machine. I previously deleted a star due to my initial connection issues. I do feel it’s performance however is so good that the vacuum now deserves all five stars. The lidar mapping really is a complete game changer. A brilliant robot vacuum that deserves serious consideration should you be in the market for one.

Allora premetto che i robot di questo tipo hanno bisogno di una QUOTIDIANA cura nello svuotare e pulire il filtro, lavare e togliere il pezzo su cui si mette il panno. Secondo me questi robot non sostituiscono le pulizie profonde che personalmente effettuo una volta alla settimana ma mantengono pulito ed ordine se usate giornalmente oppure a giorni alterni. Questo modello è quello che stai cercando se:
-Hai una casa a più piani o comunque quando fai partire il robottino la pulizia preferisci eseguirla x2 in ogni stanza per un maggiore risultato (ha una batteria che a mio parere dura davvero molto)
-Non ti interessa un lavaggio vigoroso dei pavimenti (ha una vaschetta dell’acqua un po’ molto piccola rispetto ad altri modelli come per esempio il roborock s5 max ma questo non vuol dire che pulisca di meno e posso dirlo perché per un periodo mi è stato prestato).
-Se NON hai il pregiudizio appunto che una vaschetta piccola significhi meno pulizia e se come me bagni il panno con acqua bollente previo averlo strizzato bene
-Se sei comunque piu interessat* all’aspirazione (non ha 4000pa ma devo dire che aspira molto bene capelli e peli di cane)

Il prezzo è concorrenziale rispetto agli altri modelli Roborock, marca che per ora ritengo la migliore per quanto riguarda i robottini. Insomma secondo me di questa marca è il migliore per quanto riguarda il rapporto qualità prezzo

Ps: Dall’app store va scaricata l’applicazione “Xiaomi Home” (con quella ufficiale non mi si connetteva)

Mi primer robot de empieza y va genial. Cómodo y limpio. Las bolsas me duran un montón. Lo recomiendo. Eso sí yo limpio la mopa todas las semanas y lo mantengo limpio. No me olvido de que es necesario tenerlo impecable.

I purchased this cleaner to replace our Neato after the app control was withdrawn! So far very pleased. Setting it up was easy and so was the WiFi connecting is a bit different from the Neato with better mapping and of course the added bonus of mopping as well. Both vacuuming and mopping so far have been very good and it has not got stuck so that’s good.
If I could fault it it would be the filter which will need cleaning more than is stated but not a real problem.
If I get any faults etc after we have used it longer will repost but in summing up it’s excellent value for money at the moment.

De momento todo bien. Tengo una casa unifamiliar pequeña pero se ensucia mucho al ser todo exterior. Lo peor es la suciedad del perro que entra cantidades de tierra que es horroroso. Ya tenía un robot roomba comprado hace 5 años y era imprescindible pero no era muy inteligente con el mapeado. Con este nuevo robot ha mejorado en el trazado que hace y en ruido, sigue haciendo ruido pero mucho menos que el roomba, y golpea menos los muebles. En cuanto a la opción de mopa era lo que más me interesaba y me ha sorprendido gratamente. No es para una limpieza a fondo pero si para el día a día ya que se lleva los restos de tierra del perro que tanto me agobian. Eso si, tiene un tanque de agua muy pequeño que da justo para 50m2. También es muy justo que solo viene 1 mopa y ningún recambio y después de 1 uso ya está muy sucia, con lo que tienes que vigilar de no ir arrastrando la suciedad por el resto de la casa y cambiarla si tienes un recambio. En resumen, en un primer uso estoy satisfecha. La opción de app aun no la he probado….
