Brilliant no chance of cutting through the cable now I have this one with a battery. Very long lasting battery, cuts through even thick hedging No battery with this but I already had a battery & charger so didn’t need an extra one

I have a range of De Walt tools which share the same batteries. This is a great convenience.
The hedge trimmer works fine though nowhere near as powerful as a petrol variant. It’s light, quiet and easy to use. Seems to be fine though for hedges and shrubs without thick branches.

I have the pole trimmer and chainsaw from DeWalt and have been very happy with those so thought I would try the standard trimmer. I also have a lot of DeWalt tools so have plenty of batteries.
The trimmer is in the normal yellow box, with nothing other than a brief user guide. I was slightly surprised there wasn’t a harness of any type. Also slightly surprised at how large the motor unit is. All in all it is a very impressive piece of kit, it really smacks of quality and considering it’s DeWalt value for money. I don’t think you will be disappointed.
Construction is excellent, with all the switches very positive and the safety very easy to operate. Blade is very sharp as you would expect. It’s light and powerful.
First thing I did was try a 2ah and a 5ah battery. These are two new batteries that had both been recently charged to 100%. I have to say that I was very surprised by the outcome. The trimmer operates very well with the 2ah but it operates noticeably faster and with greater cutting power if you use a 5ah battery. So, I would say a 2ah is fine for general trimming but if you need something with a little bit more power then you need 5ah batteries.
I have two 5ah batteries and a 6a charger and found that by the time one ran out the other was charged, so I could keep going indefinitely without a break.
Great build quality. Highly recommended.

I have used this hedge trimmer several times now and I am very happy with it. Its a little heavier than a corded tool, but its well balanced and the slight extra weight isn’t noticeable in use. The blade is a good length to handle the average garden hedge, but if you have a very deep hedge, you might be better off with an extendible hedge trimmer.
I was worried it might not be powerful enough to handle thicker branches, but it has handled everything I have thrown at it so far. The blades are extremely sharp and cut very well and the motor has ample power. The runtime is also very good, even with my 4ah battery packs.
I like that it has lots of safety features built in, with the front handle needing to be pressed before you can press the trigger, so that you always have both hands on the tool when its running. The trigger also has a little flip switch on it, so that you can’t accidentally press it. Its a great design that along with the front guard, makes for a very safe hedge trimmer.
Overall I am very happy with it. I wish I’d have made the move years ago as its so much easier to use than having to use an extension lead and constantly worry about the cable.

I bought this as I was tired of an unreliable petrol cutter I used to use.
Being quite sceptical about battery powered gardening tools, I was hesitant to enter the world of electric coming from a two stroke world. Besides the annoyance of my unreliable cutter and the fact that I have a lot of Dewalt XR power tools and batteries and trust the brand, I took the plunge.
Wow. I couldn’t believe how this performed out of the box. I stuck on a 5Ah dewalt XR 18v battery and this thing tore through the bushes. Even substantially thick limbs which I was very surprised about we’re not an issue.
With one full 5Ah battery, I cut one side and top of 80 feet of hedges of varying thickness and dryness and 30 foot of misc trees and shrubs and had enough power to cut up the piles of longer off cuts on the floor to make them easier to pick up afterwards.
Very well balanced with a 5Ah battery. Good quality sharp blades.

Taille haie de très bonne qualité
une batterie de 4 A suffit largement pour mon terrain avec arbustes et haies.
La coupe est propre et très franche.
la double sécurité est vraiment stupide j’ai mis du scotch sur la barre de maintien de manière a éviter ce problème, à certains moments le tenir à deux mains c’est pas possible pour moi par exemple pour tailler les thuya en hauteur sans mettre d’escabeau ou pour tailler les arrondies sur des haies, la main qui maintient bouge sur le support et a certain moment cela coupe la sécurité car le maintient est plus souple, j’ai préférer couper cet sécurité maintenant c’est vraiment parfait.
le taille haies est très léger même avec une batterie, il fait parfaitement le boulot l’entretien est minime bien sûre à voir dans le temps
j’en suis tres content. C’est un tres bon produit

The best trimmer I have ever used . Hold a charge for the large jobs and also very sharp /
Once the battery is on it can over a couple of hours seem to get heavier so be prepared it’s not over heavy but let’s say a good workout .
I do love the no cables making it easy to work from a ladder .
I do like the 3 stage safety which some have said they don’t but when I’m up high it’s good to know that it’s almost accident proof .
Great size blade and I thing terrific value at this price point

Ne possedevo già uno ma si è guastato. Hi cercato di acquistarlo nei canali tradizionali e, sentito 5 rivenditori, nessuno lo aveva disponibile ed era da ordinare con tempi di attesa biblici.
Su Amazon 5 giorni e l’avevo a casa mia.
Possiedo 3 batterie quindi non ho problemi di durata nel lavoro.
Lo uso per cimare il mio vigneto di 1 ettaro e funziona perfettamente. Anche sul legno di difende bene ma non con tagli maggiori di 1 cm.

Great tool, sharp and cuts very well. Battery lasts well, I cut a large hedge taking about an hour to cut it and the battery still had life in it. Nice and light and easy to manoeuvre. Quieter than the trimmer it replaced.

Works well. Since I already had other batteries for my other dewalt power tools, I did not need to go out and buy another battery to go with this unit. It is so much lighter and easier to use than my gas powered unit. Very satisfied.
