Amazing product that works really well on hardwood floors

For the price I got it, this is a great bit of gear. With little ones crawling around and putting everything they can find in their mouths, plus cats shedding everywhere, the level of vacuuming we had to do was intense, and Wally – as we named him/her/it – has been a game-changer. It’s a little loud when competing with the TV but for the sake of a clean floor we don’t care – the TV at least has volume control. Emptying is easy, the app functionality is good (though take a note of the model before installing the app as finding it on the list otherwise requires a PhD) and charging dock is unobtrusive. The vacuum feels sturdy and even if it doesn’t have the power of a normal upright (which is a ridiculous expectation), leaving it running for long enough does the job. Battery life isn’t amazing but then it’s not designed to go forever and even with our fairly large footprint, Wally does the whole living room, hallway and kitchen thoroughly on a single charge.

There is one big design drawback that I’ve seen mentioned in other comments. Wally is OBSESSED with repeatedly going to places he will get stuck. It’s not just random. For instance, he (to us he’s a he and the reason is this inability to stop doing things he shouldn’t and which he knows will get him in trouble) loves it under our sofa – a region of negligible value from a vacuuming perspective but one he makes a beeline for regardless of where we start him or what direction we point him in. Once under, he gets tangled in wires and has to be fished out. This, obviously, involves moving the massive, weighty sofa time after time.

It’s not just the sofa. It’s any hard-to-reach area chockablock with hazards, cables in particular. He’s an adrenalin junkie who plays chicken with the one class of objects that pose him real danger and he loses every single time. Just now, on a single outing, he visited the same 1 m x 1 m area under the sofa containing a proper thicket of wires three separate times despite my interventions. He then got snarled in some fairy lights and yanked the lot down, pulling a few pictures off the wall in the process.

Why does he do this? What engineering wizardry has managed to program deliberate self-sabotage into his processing? I want to help him, but he doesn’t respond to my desperate pleas. How is he able to overcome the barriers I place in his way to ward him off such areas, while managing to leave a square of unobstructed carpet littered with dry rice, oats and cat fluff – a vacuum’s dream – completely untouched? I can’t help but take it personally and yes, maybe I should have better cable management, but with Christmas approaching and the volume of wires only increasing, I’m worried for his wellbeing.

All in all, though, he’s a godsend – even with the frequent search and rescue operations – and a great find for the price. As soon as we turned him on, we couldn’t help but think of him as another pet with a real personality, which – while not necessarily a selling point for most – has provided us with a lot of laughs (and some tears of exasperated hopelessness, like learning that beloved Uncle Alan has started drinking again). Four stars.

Excellent robot vacuum – powerful, smart and very convenient

I’m genuinely impressed with the Lefant M2 Plus. Setup was quick and easy, and it connected to the app without any issues. The mapping is accurate, it cleans in an organised way, and it doesn’t miss spots like cheaper robot vacuums I’ve tried before.

Suction power is very good for its size and it handles hard floors and carpets really well, picking up dust, hair and debris with no problem. The self-emptying base is a huge plus – it saves so much time and keeps everything hygienic, which is perfect if you don’t want to empty the dustbin every day.

The robot is fairly quiet, avoids obstacles well, and fits easily under furniture. Battery life is also solid and it returns to the base automatically when needed.

Overall, the Lefant M2 Plus offers great value for money and feels like a premium product at a reasonable price. Highly recommended for anyone wanting a reliable, smart robot vacuum to make daily cleaning effortless.

Der kleine Robi macht einen richtig guten Job in meinem Haushalt mit 3 Hunden, einer Katze und vier gelegentlichen Gasthunden. Wir haben 50qm glatten Bodens zu putzen – wegen Stufe dazwischen in zwei Reinigungsgängen.
Da er es mit den rollbusch-verwandten Plüschknäueln eines rumänischen Herdenschutzhundmischlings aufnehmen muss, habe ich ein Modell ohne rotierende Mittelbürste ausgewählt. Robi zieht die Haare nämlich komplett bis an den Filter durch, so dass sie nicht den Eingang des Staubtanks verstopfen- im Gegensatz zu seinem Vorgänger mit Tierhaar-Gummibürste. Daher ist der leicht zu reinigende Tank auch groß genug für mindestens 30qm am Stück. Mit dieser Fläche Glattboden, aufgeteilt in drei Räume, kommt er bei höchster Saugleistung gut zurecht, bevor der Akku leer ist und er zur Ladestation zurückfährt. Diese findet er immer selbst, manchmal mit Umweg, außer er hat sich festgefahren. Das passiert selten. Muss er während des Putzens wegen schwächelndem Akku zur Station, putzt er nicht von selbst weiter und vergisst leider, was er vorher schon gereinigt hat. Aus diesem Grund eignet er sich nicht für jemanden, der erwartet, dass eine große Wohnung am Stück gesaugt wird. Für Wohnungen mit Teppich ist er wegen der fehlenden Mittelbürste ungeeignet.
Es hat sich bei allen Robis bewährt, ihnen bei den ersten Reinigungsfahrten zuzuschauen und die Räume etwas nach ihren Gewohnheiten zu gestalten. Ich sammle einige Kabel vorher ein, stelle die Stühle hoch und rücke manche Möbel etwas von der Wand weg, so dass er mit 5cm Luft gut dahinter passt. Das hat den Vorteil, dass er an solchen Stellen nicht lang rumtrödelt, insgesamt schneller putzt und der Akku länger reicht. Da es immer der gleiche Ablauf ist, nimmt das Vorbereiten des Raum nicht viel Zeit in Anspruch. Leider kann man bei diesem Modell keine Bereiche über Magnetstreifen absperren, ich nutze eine 5cm hohe Aluschiene für einen Bereich mit hoher Festfahrfrequenz. Er ist während der Arbeit nicht gerade leise, je nach eingestellter Saugstärke. Daneben Lesen oder Arbeiten würde ich nicht.
In das WLAN habe ich ihn nie eingebunden. Alle Funktionen lassen sich über die Fernbedienung steuern, die bei unserem Black-Friday-Angebot mitgeliefert wurde. Mit dieser kann man – etwas umständlich – Reinigungszeiten für eine Woche und die Saugstärke einstellen. Im Automatschen Reinigungsmodus fährt er mehrere Flächen seiner Wahl in überlappenden Bahnen ab, bis er fertig ist und noch eine Runde an der Wand entlang dreht, bevor er zur Station zurückfährt. Zusätzlich lässt sich der Robi in folgenden Modi starten: Reinigung nach Zufallsprinzip, in einem Spiralfahrt bis 1,5m Kreisdurchmesser und in einer Fahrt ausschließlich entlang der Raumränder. Außerdem kann man ihn mit der Fernbedienung ähnlich einem Spielzeugauto steuern. Die letzten drei Modi nutze ich am Ende der automatischen Reinigung für den Fleck rund um die Ladestation, den er geflissentlich immer auslässt. Das ist aber der einzige störende Programmfehler, den ich feststellen konnte. Ansonsten wirkt er gut programmiert, lässt keine weiteren Flächen aus, macht sehr gut sauber und ist aus passendem Material hergestellt. Er fällt nicht die eine vorhandene Stufe runter und saugt auch eine dunkle Fußmatte mit. Vor den meisten Möbeln hat er Respekt und stoppt davor, umso besser je heller sie sind. Schwarze Möbel ertastet er sich über sanftes Andotzen mit seinen zwei horizontalen Gummistreifen vorn. Die graugetigerte Katze hat sich in experimenteller Neugier mal von ihm anfahren lassen.
Fazit:
Für nicht allzu große Flächen am Stück mit Glattboden ist er perfekt, auch bei mehreren felligen Mitbewohnern. Dafür war er mit 120€ wirklich preisgünstig (gekauft Ende November 2022 als Black-Friday-Angebot inklusive der Fernbedienung).
