Purchased in 2022, it’s stopped working in 2025. This is actually very creditable for the extensive length of laurel hedges.
It is powerful and tackles laurel hedge as long as it’s relatively new growth, i.e. you don’t allow branches to get too thick. Where that happened, we lop manually and next time, this maintained it.
Problem and there is one, the control is on the handle. It’s difficult to explain, you’re holding it and trying to direct the trimmer and as a previous review said, it requires long arms and an awkward stance. It’s a full weight trimmer on a pole.
Also had hoped to remove the pole and use a lighter weight trimmer head at times, but it doesn’t detach. So heavy work all round.

The Terratek Corded Extendable Pole Hedge Trimmer is overall a good product and offers great value for money. It cuts well and feels sturdy. However, I found it quite heavy to handle. After about 15 minutes of use, especially when trimming the top of tall hedges, it became difficult to manage due to the weight. It’s effective, but definitely more suited for shorter trimming sessions or for those who don’t mind the extra effort.
Pros: Good performance, good value
Cons: Heavy, tiring to use for longer periods

Whenever anyone writes ‘great for the money’ you kind of think that it is not that good, but that is unfair.
It is easy to assemble, easy to disassemble, easy to use and cuts thicker branches that a hedge.
It is a little heavy when fully extended and you are in an awkward position and trying to maneuver around things .. so I would be happier if it were less than 1kg .. but you just have to stop, rest and continue.
However it does do what I need it to do which is to trim trees into shape, cut off the tops and reach reach places I can not get to with a hand trimmer. The strap works well to assist in maneuverability and the angle options allow me to be standing further back (because something is in the way) and use the changing head angles to get a flat top. It is this overstretching and holding so high up that makes it feel like it weighs more than it does .. if I could stand flat against a hedge and trim the top whilst resting it on my shoulder – it would be a doddle .. but then if I could to that I would probably just get two ladders and board and a hand cutter .. so this is a brilliant piece of equipment – and I doubt I would find anything I would be happier with – petrol might be more powersful, but I do not need more power, petrol may not have a cable, but the cable does not get in my way – it is just the weight that I am not so young, but an older or more frail person might struggle with.

Seems to be quite a well made product and has a usefully long power lead. Does get a bit heavy and unwieldy when extended to max length, but then so would any tool designed to do this job.

Since suffering a stroke few years ago, i now have terrible vertigo so this is the perfect solution when you have conifers in your garden. Easy to use but the switch can be a little fiddly when you’re moving along.
One negative thing is its top heavy but this cannot be avoided as the motor and blade are at the very end. Nice and sharp blades.
One thing to consider, is spray the cutting blade with WD40 after use. It helps prevent rust forming and stops sap sticking.

Das Gerät ist nicht mal für den Deutschen Gebrauch ausgestattet. Der Stecker passt in keine Steckdose hier ! Habe den Stecker abgeschnitten und einen für den DEUTSCHEN Markt angeschlossen ( Mit NUR 2 Kabeln möglich ) Die Heckenschere ist sehr schwer und deutlich zu kurz ! War ein totaler Fehlkauf !

Excellent value for money. Cuts small branches 10p coin size. Downside rather heavy and so best to trim overhead branches no longer than 10 minute use.
Definitely cheaper than going to a tool hire company

Length is good, my only problem was how heavy it is and I’m 5’6 female so had to get my son in to use it excellent item and I’m not complaining as it done what it’s meant to do and easy to use, now assembly was a bit confusing on putting it together but got it together in the end, the lead is very very long so perfect in length. Very sturdy but found the strap clip bent easily when you moved it the strap over your body to take off and on but sorted the clip out in the end. Worth the money I paid for the item, performance was great. Balancing was hard especially when your only a certain height.
